OK, so we can argue until we’re blue in the face about this one. Some people love .net, some hate it, most though recognise it’s strengths and can learn to work around it’s weaknesses.

Probably the main benefit of .net is the framework itself that saves you re-inventing wheels every time you want to achieve something. As you would expect, given the size of the framework, no one person can possibly know all of it!

Phil Haack has posted an interesting article on his blog regarding utility classes that .net developers often don’t know exist (and therefore re-invent).
